Dr. Barrett Mann is an expert in the field of veterinary hospice and palliative care. She provides support for pets with terminal diseases and geriatric conditions in the home setting with the goals of improving quality of life and the human-animal bond .

  • Mobility issues due to musculoskeletal or neurologic diseases (arthritis, CCL tears, spondylosis, disc disease, degenerative myelopathy etc.)

  • Respiratory disease

  • Cognitive dysfunction

  • Seizures

    Please Note: We are not a full service veterinary hospital and do not perform diagnostics such as blood work or X-rays. Referral to a veterinary hospital may be recommended for diagnostics and treatments such as IV fluid therapy, oxygen administration etc.

Palliative and Hospice Care Services

Quality of Life (QOL) Consultation $300.00

If you are unsure of what the best next steps are for your pet, consider a QOL consult.

  • 1 hour home meeting includes detailed history, physical exam, and discussion of caregiver goals.

  • Education regarding pet’s disease process and trajectory and options for management provided.

  • Can proceed to euthanasia at the visit if time allows. Additional $100 fee for euthanasia not including aftercare costs.

  • Can proceed to hospice care if elected with additional $200 fee for extra hour of consult time not including medications. Hospice visit may have to be scheduled for another time.

  • Grief support provided.

  • Payment must be made before or at time of visit (no billing) and $50 cancellation fee applies if appointment is cancelled within 2 hours of arrival time.

Hospice Care Consultation $500.00

  • 2 hour home meeting.

  • This can be an initial meeting OR following quality of life exam if deemed appropriate.

  • Comprehensive and requires a full evaluation of pet, home environment and caregiver factors (time, financial etc).

  • Discussion of treatment options including pain management (pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical), environmental modification, diet/supplements etc.

  • Follow-up via telemedicine (included with visit) and 3 month in-person visit (extra fee) to make adjustments to plan.

  • Discussion of “bucket list” activities and what a “good death” looks like for individual.

  • Pre-planning for euthanasia and aftercare.

  • Grief support provided.

  • Fee does not include medications or other supporting modalities.

  • Payment must be made at time of visit (no billing) and $50 cancellation fee applies if appointment is cancelled within 2 hours of arrival time.

Euthanasia Home Visit $400

Humane euthanasia with pre-sedation and anesthesia in the peace and comfort of home or pre-arranged location.

  • If this is our first meeting, a brief phone call is required prior to scheduling. Dr. Mann will need to communicate with patient’s referring DVM for cases of behavioral euthanasia.

  • Full service aftercare and memorialization items available. ATTACH LINK

  • Extra fees may apply for weekend and after-hours visits (if DVM is available).

  • Transport for cremation is included in aftercare fee. Return of urn and remembrance items (if applicable) is also included.

  • Extra fee applied for pets over 50 lb. if caregiver family is unable to help move patient to doctor’s vehicle.

  • Please let us know before visit if your pet has significant fear, anxiety or aggression that could negatively impact the visit. Pre-visit medications may be necessary or required.
